Song brocade is the royal brocade material of the Song Dynasty. It has a rich cultural heritage and shows low-key nobility. It is suitable for business acknowledgments, gifts from elders, wedding souvenirs, and daily commuting.
Song brocade is one of China's four most famous brocades and a national intangible cultural heritage. It has unique weaving techniques of opening the warp and breaking the weft. In ancient times, it was only used by the court nobles. It is known as the "Crown of Brocades". The banana leaf and lotus pattern is a classic auspicious pattern that has been passed down for thousands of years in the Tang and Song Dynasties: the lotus has symbolized purity, auspiciousness, peace and blessings since ancient times, and the long and stretched banana leaf symbolizes a prosperous family business and continuous good fortune. The black and gold color scheme was exclusive to the palace nobles in ancient times, representing calmness and nobility. The craftsmen reproduced the traditional palace Song brocade pattern and used pure black cowhide to set off the gilt lotus brocade, weakening the softness of the national style and creating a neutral and elegant style. The entire brocade requires dozens of processes to be hand-woven, and the multi-color gold and silver threads are repeatedly changed to jacquard. Each piece of Song brocade has a unique texture and has both intangible cultural heritage collection value and daily commuting practicality.
