Master Zhang Guoquan, the intangible inheritor of Song brocade, was selected to supervise the production of the ancient Song brocade fabric, which is mixed with natural mulberry silk and embroidered with gold colored threads to restore the classic Ming and Qing court's classic 4-character ground Ganoderma lucidum, Baoxiang and auspicious cloud patterns. The deep navy blue brocade base is paved with a continuous swastika pattern, with precious peonies in the center surrounded by Ganoderma lucidum auspicious clouds. Red and white colored threads are matched with gold outlines. The ancient hand-made jacquard creates a relief-style three-dimensional texture. The silk thread layers are full and three-dimensional, and the texture is far superior to cheap digitally printed fabric shells on the market. The all-in-one matte TPU soft shell is made from a 1:1 mold of the real machine, and the lens ring is heightened to protect against bumps in all directions; the natural silk brocade surface is skin-friendly and breathable, oil-resistant and fingerprint-resistant, making it dry and non-sticky to hold in all seasons. The swastika pattern means long life and endless life. Ganoderma lucidum has been a symbol of health and longevity since ancient times, auspiciousness and dispelling misfortune. The precious peony represents wealth and perfection.
Song brocade is an intangible cultural heritage of mankind. It was created by the Suzhou Weaving House in the Southern Song Dynasty and was used exclusively by the royal family in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Zhang Guoquan is a representative inheritor of Suzhou Song brocade, an intangible cultural heritage. He has been deeply involved in the ancient Song brocade weaving for decades, restored many lost ancient brocade patterns of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and restored a large number of Song brocade fabrics of the blessing and longevity series in the museum. The 10,000-character Ganoderma lucidum pattern originated from the Tang and Song Dynasties and flourished in the Ming and Qing dynasties. It is the top auspicious Chinese birthday pattern: the continuous 10,000-character ganoderma indicates endless longevity, Ganoderma lucidum is an ancient fairy grass, symbolizing health and peace, dispelling disasters and auspiciousness. The entire piece of brocade has gone through more than 20 ancient processes including silk reeling and dyeing, plant dyeing, cross-stitching, and hand-thrown shuttle weaving on an old wooden machine. The dense arrangement of the swastika pattern consumes a lot of material. The old-fashioned handloom can only weave a few centimeters of brocade in a single day, and the fabric is scarce in mass production. The designer condensed the Song Dynasty brocade of longevity and longevity restored by Master Zhang Guoquan into a square-inch phone case, bringing the ancient palace brocade used to celebrate birthdays into modern daily life.
