We select warm first-layer cowhide for edging and combine it with the lost royal lacquer mother-of-pearl inlay intangible cultural heritage technique to create this national-style mini square handbag wrapped with branches and treasures. The surface of the bag is based on multiple layers of natural lacquer, and is hand-inlaid with multi-color natural mother-of-pearl and intertwined with Baoxiang flowers. The center is surrounded by auspicious seal script patterns, and green, gold, white, and pink mother-of-pearl are intertwined. The shell has natural phantom pearlescent light that changes luster with the flow of light and shadow. It is paired with a solid wood ring handle, and the compact square bag has built-in layered compartments to easily store small items. The mini square shape is exquisite and elegant, suitable for cheongsam, Hanfu, tea clothes, and new Chinese light dresses. It can be carried for daily outings, tea parties, and dinners. The treasures wrapped around the branches imply blooming flowers, endless life, and complete blessings. The central seal pattern carries beautiful wishes for peace and success. The lacquer mother-of-pearl has been a royal treasure since ancient times. It has a strong collection quality and has outstanding style as a gift for best friends, souvenirs for elders, and national-style cultural and travel gifts.

Lacquer mother-of-pearl inlay, also known as Baibao inlay in ancient times, is a national-level traditional intangible cultural heritage composite craft. It combines the two ancient methods of lacquer painting and mother-of-pearl inlay. It originated in the Shang and Zhou dynasties and flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It was only used for royal screens, makeup boxes, and ritual vessels. The craftsmanship is complex and expensive. The pattern of treasures entwining branches is a thousand-year-old classic Chinese auspicious pattern, which combines the shapes of lotus and peony, symbolizing long-lasting wealth and health in all seasons; the seal script with the central fret is taken from traditional auspicious seal cutting, which means peace and security every year. Craftsmen replicate the ancient lacquer work process, repeatedly painting, drying, inlaying shells, and tracing gold. A single piece of mother-of-pearl lacquer panel requires many days of handcrafting. The natural texture of each piece of shell is unique, and no two packages are exactly the same. Combining the classic lacquer art mother-of-pearl with modern mini handbags, the luxurious aesthetics of the palace makeup box is condensed into a square handbag, allowing the millennium lacquer art to enter daily wear.
